Thankful

Hey everyone!
Let me start out by saying these past few days I've been in a funk. I'm just going through this transitional phase from being a student to being out in the grown-up world. I don't really like it. lol. I miss being in college, living in a house with friends, getting to see those friends and my boyfriend almost everyday. Now I'm living with my parents while my friends and boyfriend are a thousand miles away. Not to mention not really liking my job as a floating pharmacist. But today I woke up to a new day. It is the most gorgeous day outside (65 degrees and sunny), I went to the gym and then picked up a pumpkin spice latte and here I sit. I decided I have so much to be thankful for and that I shouldn't let things get me down. What am I thankful for you ask?

I'm thankful for having the best family ever.  They are ALWAYS there for me no matter what.

I'm thankful for having a boyfriend who is there for me. I thankful that we are both willing to take on the challenge of a long distance relationship. It's been about 5 months apart now, I think that in itself shows we're meant to be together!

I'm thankful for all of my friends that I've made throughout my almost 25 years of life. They are incredible people who have helped shape me into what I am today. If I added pictures of them all this post would be way too long! You know who you are! :-)

I'm thankful for my relationship in God. I have a peace of mind that can only come from having a connection with Him. Learning his teachings through the bible and praying every night is something I couldn't live without.

I'm thankful for my job even if I don't love it everyday.

I'm thankful for my pets who are always there to play or cuddle with.

I have a ton more to be thankful for but those listed are the most important to me.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Pinterest, Polyvore and Fall fashion!

Hello Everyone!
As promised in my last post, today is about some fall fashion things I've been looking at through pinterest and online window shopping. I've made a pact with myself to cut down on my shopping which tends to get a little excessive lately, so there's no harm in just looking right?
Anyway last night I discovered polyvore which is a website where you can create whole looks which if you're on pinterest there are a ton of these posted on there. SO I made my own look this morning combining things that I have in my closet and some things I'd like to have in my closet to create a whole fall look

Isn't it great!? I always have trouble picturing outfits in my head so this site is perfect!! My favorite fall basics are those whiskey colored boots and the purpley red nail polish. I also love scarves for fall, they really bring a look together.
As far as shoes I'm also loving jewel tone suede heels like these!

Also these black Stuart Weitzman booties which I've already tried on, but not sure what I would wear them with.

I also really like the cape look for outerwear, not really sure I could pull this off though...

As far as scarves go, I'm loving the variety Banana Republic has from floral to solid.

Lastly for fall I'm loving Rose Gold watches!

Well I hope you enjoyed this little fashion segment! Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

 Amanda

Not so bad Monday

Hey everyone!
Well this Monday's not so bad because I have the day off! There's a tropical storm here in Florida so it's cooler and rainy. I like this kind of weather once in a while. It's perfect for curling up and reading book! Speaking of books, last night I finished The Pillars of the Earth. I finished reading it at work last night actually because it is sooo slow on Sunday nights. This book is quite a saga and evokes all kinds of emotions from happy to sad to angry. It's set in the middle ages which is a time period that I'm not very familiar with and I found that life back then was very rough, especially for women. All in all it was a good book and I'm glad I read it on the recommendation of John.
Now I'm excited to start this!

This afternoon I have a personal training appointment. The personal training has been going really well, but I've run into a motivational wall when it comes to going to the gym on my own. I just keep making excuses so I'm vowing to push myself this week and get back into a routine of going at least 3-4 times per week!
Later tonight I'm going to dinner and to see Footloose with some girls from work so I'm looking forward to that!

I want to do a post this week about fall fashion things that I'm loving. I've been doing some online window shopping and pinterest also has so many ideas. So stay tuned for that post!

I hope you all have a great Monday!

Zumba

Hey everyone!
Last night I had my first Zumba experience. I met up with some girls that I've met through work, one girl actually went to Butler! Anyway, Zumba was awesome! The instructor Erika owns the studio and she was great. Zumba is Latin inspired so it fit that the instructor was from Puerto Rico. She was super high energy and the place was packed. There were a wide range of ages and backgrounds which I thought made it more fun. It was a good work out too! I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
I hope you all have a great Friday!

Day Off

Hi everyone!
It's time for an update! Today I had a day off and have been meaning to write this post all day...but I was too busy being lazy! I got back yesterday from Indianapolis. I was there for a very short visit! Less than 48 hours, but definitely better than nothing! I got in on Saturday morning and John and I went to one of our favorite restaurants in Indy called Zest for lunch. He had meatloaf and mac and cheese (as always) and I had baja tacos. Then we went apple picking! The weather was actually more summery than fall like. It was warm and sunny which is okay by me! I'm kicking myself for taking hardly any pictures this weekend. But here is what we did with some of the apples!
It was delicious! That night we went out to Broadripple and I was excited to see some of my friends from college out! It's always good to see and catch up with them! On Sunday we went back to Zest (we obviously love this place, lol) for breakfast. We spent the rest of the day watching football and went over to John's friends' apartment for a little dinner get together, which was fun. Monday morning I flew back here because I had to work yesterday afternoon. I think I'm coming down with a cold now (thanks John!). I'm trying to fight it with these awful tasting things:
 and lots of this:
All in all in was a really great weekend and as always it's so hard to leave the boyfriend :-(
Tomorrow begins my work week since my next day off is Monday. Joy!

I'll leave you with a Tiffany Tip (one of my favorites)

Michael Jackson Obsession

Did that title catch your attention? Haha. Well it's true everyone, today's post is about my obsession with Michael Jackson. You see when I was about 6 years old me and my best friend at the time Amy would watch MTV pretty much all the time (in between playing Barbies of course)...this was back when all they would play was music videos and Beevus and Butthead which I didn't watch, lol. Anyway, my childhood was definitely filled with all these great classic music videos. We would dance around and watch these for hours on end. As you can guess our favorites were Michael Jackson's. His videos were theatrical in a sense and always had good dancing in them. I really couldn't tell you how many times we would watch his videos over and over. We loved him and I was actually quite upset when he died. I watched the special footage of the few weeks before he died when he was rehearsing for his tour. I mean this concert would have been the most amazing thing. He still was dancing like he did back when he was 20. The choreography and all the famous songs he would've sung, I mean WOW, I would've loved, loved, loved to see this concert. Anyway, that's a little quirky tidbit about me that some of you may not have known. I bring it up because today in the car I heard "The Way You Make Me Feel." You can't not turn that song up and dance along. So upbeat and fun! Of course hearing the song reminded me of the music video, so I thought I'd share that with you guys! Maybe I'll have to share his videos throughout my future blog posts, because if you haven't seen them, you're missing out!

Enjoy!

Monday Cheer

Hi Everyone,
I decided for today's post to talk about beauty because well it's Monday and I don't know about you but a good lip gloss and nail polish can lift my mood!
So I've gotten back into Shellac manicures. For those of you who haven't tried it, its awesome! It's basically a gel nail polish that they put on your natural nails that sets with a UV light and it won't chip for 2 weeks! It's better for your nails than acrylics and looks more natural too!
As a Monday pick me up I stopped by the salon today to get this! Feeling better already!

Now I bought this product awhile ago...
I don't usually like to wear lipstick but I found this amazing lipstick/balm.

It's super moisturizing and adds just the right amount of color. I have it in Whole Lotta Honey which is a great tint that's brings out the natural color of my lips.
Anyone else feeling a little more cheerful?
Another product I am really liking is a work-out top I wore for the first time last week. Since starting personal training I've been bulking up my workout wardrobe and have all kinds of fancy workout tops but I've found that I like the most basic one the best!
This Nike Dri-Fit Cotton Tank Top is the most comfortable, best fitting top I've tried so far.

I hope you all had a good Monday!!

 Amanda
